6/3/2009 - Volunteers Required
As a service to residents and to release Police Officers to spend more duty time on patrol, it is planned to open a Public Enquiry Desk which will be situated at Pulborough Police Station.

Two people at a time would man the desk with shifts likely to be from 09.00 to noon and 14.00 to 17.00 from Monday to Friday. The work would involve answering general enquires from residents and passing on relevant information to the Police or other local organisations. The shift rota could be adapted to suit those with only limited time available.

Training will be given although no technical skills would be required and the work could be suitable for someone with mobility problems. The Enquiry Desk would be accessed by a separate side door at the Police Station.

23/4/2009 - Monthly Parish Council Surgeries
The Parish Council holds a surgery with Councillors present at each Farmers' Market on the last Saturday of the month in the Village Hall. The surgery is open from 10 to 11. Come along and find out what the Parish Council does, report issues and find out about becoming a Councillor.

29/4/2009 - Basketball Hoop
There have been complaints from some people that they are unable to use the basketball hoop near the Sports Pavilion due to interference from parked cars. At the meeting of the Recreation and Open Spaces Committee on 23 April 2009, it was decided to look at the options to move the hoops elsewhere on the Recreation Ground. Members of the public and users of the hoops and Recreation Ground are invited to comment and are asked to give their feedback and suggestions to the Parish Clerk by 25/6/2009.

30/4/2009 - Annual Parish Meeting 14th May
Pulborough Parish Council invites you to the Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday 14th May in the Village Hall at 7:30pm.

21/5/2009 - Parish Council Staff Vacancies
A temporary vacancy has occurred for a Litter-Picker in Pulborough working 11 hours a week, starting immediately until the end of September 2009.

A permanent vacancy for Groundsman, working 20 hours a week will become available at the beginning of September 2009.

Jan Botting has retired as Chairman and Councillor.
David Jolliffe is the new Chairman.
Ray Quested is the new Vice-Chairman, taking over from Christine Barnett.

27/5/3009 - Highway and Transport Issues in Pulborough
To help with the preparation of the Pulborough Village Transport Plan, we'd appreciate your opinions. Please download and print this survey, complete it and return it to the Parish Office by 17 July 2009.

3/6/2009 - Extra Meeting of the Finance and Policy Committee
An extra meeting of the Finance and Policy Committee will be held on Thursday, 18th June 2009 at 6.30pm in the Rother Room at the Village Hall. This is to discuss the annual accounts.

All members of the public are welcome to attend.

13/6/2009 - Pulborough Village Transport Plan
Following it's formation in December 2008, The Pulborough Village Transport Plan Group has now identified a number of highways and transport issues in the village and these will be shown at the Draft Village Transport Plan public exhibition in the Village Hall on the 26th June (between 6pm and 10pm) and the 27th June. 6/6/2009 - Post Office
The Post Office is proposing to open a new branch at MBC Business Centre, 20 Lower Street. Further details and an invitation to make comments are given in this Consultation Document.

27/7/2009 - New Parish Councillor, Alex Kipp
We welcome Alex Kipp who was co-opted onto the council on 16th July aged 18 years and 11 days - possibly the youngest Parish Councillor in the country. His remit is to attract younger people to the Council, to give a younger persons point of view and look after their interests.

30/7/2009 - Lots happening around the Recreation Ground during the Summer holidays!
August 4 and 11 from 1.30pm until 4.30pm - the Roadshow comes to town! This will include such things as live music, Purple Bus, baseball, stoolball, sumo suits and much more.

August 5 - Brighton and Hove Albion free football training from 1pm until 4pm.

August 19 - Mobile Skateboard Ramp in the Pavilion car park from 12noon until 4pm.

5/9/2009 - All Change in the Parish Office
Lesley Hoff, our Parish Clerk for the last three years, is moving North for family reasons. We are very sorry to see her depart and wish her well in her new life.

Sarah Norman, previously our Deputy Clerk, is now Clerk to the Council.

Liz Farrell is our new Deputy Clerk.

Lisa Deverson will be Assistant Clerk from 14th September.

23/9/2009 - Core Strategy Review Consultation Document
Horsham District Council has recently published its Core Strategy Review Consultation Document. This document includes 2 options which affect Pulborough greatly; Option 8 is the potential for 4000 new homes at Adversane/North Heath with Option 9 including the possibility of a further 280 homes to the west of the village. The Parish Council will be attending both the Farmers Market and the Harvest Fayre on Saturday 26th September to display the plans and consult with the community before drafting its formal response to HDC. A second exhibition of the plans will be held at Adversane Hall on Saturday 3rd October. Please come along and have your say.

Alternatively a copy of the Review together with comment forms are available at the library and they can also be viewed online. Online comments can be made through the same link.

Please make your comments to HDC as soon as possible as the deadline for responses is 16th October 2009.

16/10/2009 - Core Strategy Review Consultation Response
The Parish Council has now responded, helped by the opinions of almost 200 residents.

It opposes the proposed new town at North Heath/Adversane and is more nuanced about development within Pulborough itself.

EVENING OF ACTION - Thursday 17th December 2009

As a result of the recent arson incidents in and around the Glebelands area, the Horsham District Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership will be visiting to try and establish who is responsible and put an end to this criminal activity.
