Local Government Scale LC2 SCP 18-23 £27,344-£30,151 pa dependent on experience and qualification

37 hours per week

We are seeking a Deputy Clerk to join the Parish Council’s administrative staff to assist, support and provide cover for the Parish Clerk in all aspects of the day-to-day management and operation of council services, including some financial tasks. The post involves managing two council committees and the council’s allotments.

The role is a full-time permanent position, 37 hours per week, mostly office based but with some flexibility, and includes attending two evening meetings per month.

Salary will be set at a point within the LC2 range depending on relevant experience, with attractive holiday entitlement and pension scheme. Previous experience of local government would be an advantage, as would a financial background and a Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA).

Good communication skills will be needed, with experience of using Excel, Word and Outlook. Candidates will need to be very well organised, with an eye for detail, and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team in this busy post.
