Overview of Progress
Here at Pulborough Parish Council, we are dedicated to enhancing our community through various initiatives aimed at improving facilities, promoting sustainability, and fostering community spirit. Below is a summary of the progress we have made on several key projects:
1. Pulborough Sports & Social Pavilion
- Current Status: Working closely with stakeholders for a complete demolition and rebuild.
- Progress: Continuously seeking additional funding to support this ambitious project.
2. Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA)
- Planned Start: Set to begin mid-September 2024, aiming for a brand new surface, equipment upgrades, and improved amenities.
3. Cricket Nets
- Completion: Successfully completed in January 2024, enhancing our local sporting facilities.
4. Community Garden
- Initiative: Started in April 2024 with plans for expansion.
- Official Opening: Expected in August 2024, providing a green space for all members of our community to enjoy.
5. Pulborough Pantry
- Commencement: Launched in January 2024.
- Impact: Serving an average of 200 people weekly, preventing 1000 tonnes of food waste monthly.
- Collaboration: Partnered with Horsham Matters to offer food hampers and financial advice.
6. Rewilding
- Partnership: Collaborating with South Downs National Park Authority and Sussex Wildlife Trust.
- Future Focus: Introducing an apprentice biodiversity officer in September 2024 to further conservation efforts.
7. Pulborough Shedders
- Development: Planning a new facility integrating various community uses.
- Integration: Coordinating with the community garden (Project 4) to enhance communal spaces and activities.
