Pulborough Community Allotment Welcomes Rotary Club Donation

Pulborough Community Allotment in West Sussex has received a very welcome donation from the Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough – a new wheelbarrow.
The Pulborough Community Allotment, which is being supported by Pulborough Parish Council, was set up earlier this year with the vision of inclusivity, sustainability, and vitality. This will be achieved by nurturing a thriving shared space where residents can learn and socialise together.
Volunteers of all ages and abilities with or without gardening skills are already getting involved, promoting a sense of community, collaboration, and environmental stewardship. They also get to eat the produce they grow, with any surplus donated to the village’s Pulborough Pantry for distribution to residents.
Sharon Curd, chair of the Pulborough Community Allotment said: “Thanks to the Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough District our volunteers can now make light work of moving gardening materials about safely. The wheelbarrow will certainly be well used as we clear and prepare our allotment for next season’s crops. The timing couldn’t be better!”
Malcolm Gray, Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough Committee Member for Community, Vocation and Youth Projects added: “We are delighted to support the community allotment project, giving local residents an opportunity to grow their own produce as well as benefitting their mental health by being among friends as part of a team.”
New volunteers are encouraged to get in touch. If you would like more information, please visit our Pulborough Community Allotment Facebook page.
